The Big Picture: Exposing the Attack Surface

On average, it takes 280 days for a data breach to be noticed and/or mitigated. Ransomware continues to grow and will be increasingly innovative and aggressively deployed by criminals. Organizations are deploying more and more intelligent defences to combat it. A big caveat is that this means humans will play an increasingly large role in attacks. The threat landscape will continue to change, bringing ever-changing risks. Do you still see the big picture and have an idea what your attack surface is?

What will you get?

Based on an analogy of the Formula 1, this presentation will give insights and explanation of the attack surface of an organization. The attack surface refers to all the vulnerable points at which an attacker can break in, steal data or cause any other harm. In short, managing these vulnerabilities, 'often called low hanging fruit', is essential to ensure an organisation existence by lowering its risk appetite.
