Hunter Stockton Thompson (July 18, 1937 – February 20, 2005) was an American journalist and author. He rose to prominence with the publication of Hell's Angels (1967), a book for which he spent a year living with the Hells Angels motorcycle club to write a first-hand account of their lives and experiences. In 1970, he wrote an unconventional article titled "The Kentucky Derby Is Decadent and Depraved" for Scanlan's Monthly, which further raised his profile as a countercultural figure. It also set him on the path to establishing his own subgenre of New Journalism that he called "Gonzo", a journalistic style in which the writer becomes a central figure and participant in the events of the narrative. more at Wikipedia

Regelmatig kom ik quotes tegen van bekende, minder bekende en (nog) onbekende personen. De quotes zijn krachtig, inspireren of motiveren mijzelf realistischer te kijken in bepaalde situaties op het werk of in het leven. Ik ben ze digitaal gaan verzamelen/bundelen omdat het veel makkelijker is om ze met anderen te delen en terug te lezen. Op dit moment bestaat de verzameling uit een groot aantal unieke quotes en wordt er zo nu en dan nog een toegevoegd. I regularly come across quotes from well-known, less-known and (still) unknown people. The quotes are powerful, inspire or motivate me to look more realistically at certain situations at work or in life. I started to compile them digitally because it is much easier to share and read them with others. At the moment the collection consists of a large number of unique quotes and one is added every now and then.
